PCR also known as Thermal Cycler, is used for the amplification of the DNA. It is used to make multiple copies of the DNA fragment provided which amplifies the DNA exponentially. qPCR monitors the amplification of the targeted DNA molecule during the PCR (i.e., in real time), not at its end, as in a conventional PCR.
